In 2022, as an accompaniment to the HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No.1 exhibition is Lisson Gallery, Devon Turnbull wrote a first hand account of his lifelong love of DIY audio, and the creation of the system. It was intended to be a submission to the legendary Japanese audio magazine, MJ Radio and Experiment. Initially unable to get them to publish the piece in MJ, it was published by Lisson as a zine. Four years later, Turnbull is a staff writer at MJ, so when when HiFi Pursuit Listening Dream No.3 opened at Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, he was able to perform the same writing exercise directly in the magazine. In order to address the non-Japanese speaking, English speaking market, MJ produced this special edition, complete with a HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No.3 dust jacket and an insert with the original English text that appears only on Japanese in the magazine.
